LOW ROPE TEAM BUILDING COURSES

emphasize on group dynamics, leadership skills and positive communication

Low rope elements present tests of physical strength, stamina, agility, balance, and flexibility, and invite participants to confront such emotional issues as the fear of falling, the fear of failure, and the fear of losing control.

How it works?

Low Ropes Elements are a series of cables, ropes, and obstacles strung between trees or poles, 12 to 18 inches above the ground. Risk is managed by group members who assume critical spotting roles. involve problems using real and imaginary ground-based obstacles: cables, ropes, and platforms between trees or poles, a foot or so above the ground. Low ropes elements test physical strength, stamina, agility, balance, and flexibility, and invite participants to confront such emotional issues as the fear of falling, the fear of failure, and the fear of losing control. Examples include: Swinging Balance Beam, Triangle Traverse, Tire Swings, and Mohawk Walk.

Based on your needs, budget, and location site, we will custom design and build the ideal low ropes challenge course and facilitate the course to maximize effectiveness and safety.

list of Low Rope Courses

1. Porthole: The Porthole is constructed by suspending a tire between poles or trees. Participants will cross from one side of the porthole to the other without touching the porthole. The group must create a plan that takes participant physical ability and size to lift, pass, and spot participants in order to get them through.

2. Alligator Crossing: The Alligator Crossing is a series of platforms set out approximately 8 feet apart that the group must cross using a 6 foot board. Each platform becomes progressively smaller. The object is to get the entire group from behind a line on the ground onto each successive platform until they crossed to a span of an imaginary river without touching the ground. The group must do this without the aid of any foreign objects (sticks, rope, etc) EXCEPT the one 6-foot board they are given. The group must create a strategy, assign roles, work as a team, and assess progress throughout the entire activity.

3. Wild Woozy or Commitment Bridge: The commitment bridge has two foot cables that form a "Y" between trees or poles. The objective is work with a partner to try to go as far along the cables as possible without falling.

4. Swinging Log: The Swinging Log is a popular ropes course element that is constructed between trees or poles. A tree or log is suspended with cables between trees or poles, making it very difficult to stand on. The objective is to perform various group balancing tasks on top of the log.

5. Spider Web: The Spider's Web is a popular ropes course element that is constructed between trees, or on portable or stand-alone structures. The objective is to cross from one side of the spider's web to the other without touching the web. The group must create a plan that takes participant physical ability and size to lift, pass, and spot participants in order to get them through.

6. Tee Pee Shuffle: The Tee Pee Shuffle is simply a log or pole on the ground that groups can balance on. You can make one with more of a finished look by elevating the log. The objective is to have the group perform various tasks while balanced on the log.

7. Mohawk Walk: The Mohawk Walk is series of footcables strung between trees or poles, typically in a zig zag pattern. The object is to get the entire group from the first tree to the last without touching the ground, and without the aid of foreign objects (sticks, rope, etc). The group must create a strategy, assign roles, work as a team, and assess progress throughout the entire activity.

8. Whale Watch: The Whale Watch is a popular ropes course activity that is constructed by create a large platform with a see saw action, which imitates the rocking back and forth of a ship. The objective is to have the group perform various functions on the platform without allowing the edges of the platform to touch the ground.

9. Challenge Walk: The Challenge Walk sits off the ground 12 to 48 inches while extending the length of three football fields. It features 20 interconnected activities that weaves under a canopy of trees keeping you cool in the summer.

10. Tire Traverse: The Tire Traverse is one of the most popular low ropes elements. Tires are suspended in the air by cables and the group's goal is to cross through the element without touching the ground. This is the first event in our team challenge circuit that tests physical endurance as well as group work. Encouragement is essential to the full completion of this task.

11. Multi Line Traverse: Multi Line Traverse is ideal for groups working together or alone. Ropes are spaced farther and farther apart as you travel along the cable. This is a good warm up for our high ropes multi line that is 24' above ground. Everybody smiles and enjoys the fun and camaraderie and they appreciate being just inches from the ground.

12. Zig Zag: The third element in our non stop low ropes course. The Zig Zag uses deductive reasoning to calculate which of the three boards is used in what order to snap into a make shift bridge. Balance and teamwork ...and did we mention sharing. All of the boards need to be passed back and forth to move your entire team across the 6 Zig Zag expansion bridges.

13. Floating Islands: Designed to move and sway, our Floating Islands do just that ...they float all over the place. This low ropes course event tests your confidence and foot speed. The faster you go the easier it can be! With over 33 feet to cross and just five islands you need to keep everything in motion. A great team challenge.

14. Tension Traverse: Once you stretch the rope out towards the middle everything changes. To make this low ropes course event even harder the rope only makes it 20 feet. The last seven feet requires team assistance or a long leap of faith.

15. Suspended Log: Imagine a Suspended Log that sits 20 feet above ground...how hard will it be to walk with no hands? Our low ropes course version sits just 12 inches off the ground and because of this everybody zooms across this log. Take the challenge and do both with no hands or do it with two or three team mates. You will need and easy event after the tension traverse.

16. Heebie Jeebie: Heebie Jeebie is the name for this low ropes course team builder. Ours is over 27 feet long and somewhere in the middle is where the name came from. Two intersecting ropes cross to create both and obstacle and a blessing. The blessing is the second rope and the obstacle is the extreeme balance it takes to get around the knots.

17. Horizontal Ladder: The Horizontal Ladder is over 50 feet of angled walkway that rises and falls between 6 trees. Your team walks through this maze of angles while the ladder shakes and moves from side to side. A great team challenge for all age groups.

18. Zip Seat: It fly's over a valley and has over 200 feet of cable holding it to two trees. It's called The Zip Seat and it's our warm up to it's bigger brother the twin Zip line. Friends and team mates push the seat at different speeds to achieve the desired results. Ideal for tandem rides as well as high speed adventures.

19. The Beam: Sounds like a gymnastics element. Pass every member of your team from one side of the trees to the other via a 15 foot suspended log. Each team mate must be passed over the top of the log to the other side. Tons of fun and strategies that build stronger relationships.

20. Trust Fall: A true trusting experience happens every time as you fall backwards into the crossed arms of your co-workers or friends. The Trust Fall relies on the strengths of many to support the smallest or largest person. A straight backwards fall without hesitation is the true mark of trust.

21. Balance Platform: Balance takes on many forms...Demonstrating form while on a 16 foot platform with lots of other people is challenging. The Balance Platform places two at a time on a stand up, sit down teeter totter and continually adds and subtracts team members while balancing the entire platform. Up for the challenge?

And if anyone touches the ground, they may have to start again.
