Rock Climbing as an adventure sports that originated in 60's in United Kingdom . Its popularity grew and soon it made its way into India almost 15 years ago. The only difference between Mountaineering and Rock Climbing is that of snow and rough weather. The rocks are almost flat and one has to make ways in the rock using vertical, horizontal and slanting cracks on the rock surface to reach to the summit using only hands, feet and rope.
Rock Climbing is the test of strength, balance, concentration, stamina, coordination, skills and techniques a person possesses. Rockclimbing is most exciting of all outdoor adventure activities which includes rappelling, jumaring, bouldering, commando climbing, traverse crossing, natural climbing and mountain & waterfall trekking, as well as cave exploration.
Rock climbing is not about using shear physical strength to conquer or subdue a rock wall nor is it a life or death struggle to get to the top! Climbing on rock is like a vertical ballet, where one must perform with grace and efficiency while combining both physical and mental abilities to achieve agility and balance. The modern sport of rockclimbing has evolved rapidly with advances in techniques and equipment making it much safer as well as more enjoyable and satisfying.
Climbing requires both skill and nerve for success. Rock Climbing allows you to fully experience the great outdoors by giving you eagle-eye views from lofty summits, pushing both your physical fitness and mental health, and offering you a way to confront and control a couple of our greatest human fears—that of falling and that of heights.
